The Photography Farm

Last week I spent the most amazing 3 days down on Photography Farm. There are so many fantastic photography workshops out there and I truly believe that no matter what level you are at in your career there's always room for improvement... and for me the Farm was the one!! I've long been a fan of both Lisa Devlin and Rock and Roll Bride, so spending 3 days in the english countryside in the most beautiful house with these girls plus 9 other 'Farmers' was a dream come true.

On day one we had 2 shoots styled by the fantastic Hannah of The Tea Set. The first was an engagement shoot with an incredibly brave real couple... it took some nerve for them to put themselves before 10 trigger happy photographers. But Lisa taught us how to put couples at ease and make them feel natural in front of the camera (which is quite a task). Then next we shot Kat from Rock and Roll Bride's gorgeous sister Rachel and her partner Jamie. The British weather may have put a dampener on the moroccan hippy themed shoot... but Rachel looked soooo ridiculously beautiful that we couldn't stop shooting her. She was so nervous on the morning but turn a camera on her and she rocked it!! Stunning...

On the second day we had a full day of business school. Lisa ran us through workflow, the dreaded post production and generally how to provide the best for your clients and also yourself. Honestly, I don't know how I survived without all this information. Then in the afternoon Kat ran us through the world of blogging. It was an amazing insight into a growing industry which Rock and Roll Bride is right there at the top of, I certainly wouldn't be where I am today without it. Both Lisa and Kat were open to any questions, there wasn't anything they wouldn't tell you :)

I had absolutely the most awesome time down on the Farm. I met so many other fantastic photographers, learned more than I ever dreamed I would, made some great friends, and most importantly, I believe, came away a better photographer. I can't recommend it enough. And I'm now a full fledged badge wearing Farmer :D
